HydraFacial & Dr. Gill
One of the most valuable numbers you can have for a doctor is a dermatologist. Our skin is our largest organ so knowing a doctor that specializes in the health of your skin, hair and nails is so important! Several years ago I met Dr. Anita Arora Gill to treat acne issues that I was experiencing. Not only did her warm smile and kind demeanor impress me but her expertise and knowledge of how to treat and improve my skin was even more impressive. Since then my son and daughter have both seen her and as a mother herself, she made my children feel at ease. Huge points!!
I also appreciate how Gill Dermatology offers different aesthetic procedures as well as medical. Each month I try to schedule a medical grade facial, and my favorite is a HydraFacial. A HydraFacial is a four step process that includes exfoliation and hydration at the same time. Afterwards, my skin is glowing, texture is smoother and pore size is diminished. Meet Jessica! She is Dr. Gill's aesthetician who performed the HydraFacial. I loved how she explained each of the steps and their benefits.
Step 1 is to DEEP CLEANSE AND EXFOLIATE. All the dead skin is removed on the surface while the solution is cleansing your skin at the same time. Leaving a clean surface to work with.
Step 2 is the GLY/SAL CHEMICAL PEEL. (I love this part!) This step is customized depending on your skin type. On me Jessica used a 7.5% solution which is basically a very light chemical peel and is just going to give me a little boost in the exfoliation process. It also preps the pores for the extraction part which is the next step. Since all the dead skin was removed off of the surface with the first step, it is rare to see any peeling with this level peel. The also offer a 30% peel which is great for acne patients! Peeling may be experienced with this level.
Step 3 is EXTRACTIONS. With this step a higher vortex vacuum is gone over the t-zone and problem areas where clogged pores and blackheads are more prone to be. This step will actually pull out blackheads and clogged pores that are ready to come up to surface! Yes!!!
Step 4 is HYDRATION. The solution used in this step if full of antioxidants which is going to help brighten the skin and calm down inflammation. The hyaluronic acid helps plump and hydrate the skin which leaves you glowing for days!! And Jessica shared a very interesting fact: Hyaluronic acid aids in prolonging fillers since those are made of hyaluronic acid also. Who knew?
At only 45 minutes, this facial is perfect for on the go moms. I hopped onto the chair and was leaned back for the facial. In and out - glowing skin in less than an hour!
