It Is Well
It was September 22, 2016 when I changed my hair color (IG post - "When life kicks you in the gut, you change your hair”) and then on October 4th I poured it all out in my blog post Sinking Deep. And I’ll never forget the fear I felt while writing that post, not really certain how people would perceive me and my situation. I always play the Pandora station “Hillsong United” when I write and it was then when the song Sinking Deep”began to play. The Sinking Deep blog was posted the next morning and my gosh…you each gave me the biggest hugs with your texts, comments and emails. Thank you. And some of you shared your story with me…thank you for sharing and inspiring me.
On Monday, April 24th I made the tough decision that it was in Fashion Rowe’s best interest and mine to take a break from posting and blogging until the divorce was final. And now, 10 weeks I am legally divorced. The 9 month dark tunnel has an exit after all.
I am so excited to getting back to blogging and sharing with you my favorite styles and beauty products! I’ve missed it so much! I hope you like my new website, along with my new name! I have chosen to go back to my maiden name, Elvira Graham (aw the memories of the “Graham Cracker" jokes as a child is all coming back to me!). Thank you to all for hanging in there with me and sticking around. Thank you for your comments, messages and emails of encouraging words. God lifted my head up with your kindness!
I do have a few upcoming blog posts to share with you about my journey going through this divorce, but I wanted to start off with sharing with you another song that has resonated with me. One morning after dropping my son off at school this overwhelming sadness came over me and my head started to go to that place with the big question mark…and asking “Why Lord?”. And as “why, why, why” is on repeat in my head, the song Even If by Mercy Me is playing in the background. I have heard this song a hundred times. But you know how you hear a song for the first time the 100th time? Well Even If is one of those songs for me. I have heard it on KSBJ radio many times, but never really listened to the words. As I shared with you back in October about Sinking Deep by Hillsong United, I want to share with you about Even If by Mercy Me.
Even If
It is easy to sing His praises during the good times, and when those dreaded bumps in the road come along I am determined to trust in His plan and let it be “well with my soul”. He’s allowed this pain, but I know I will eventually be carried safe to shore, in His arms in His time.
