Farewell Summer, My Summer Re-Cap!
It is so hard to believe I shot this dress the first week of June at the beginning of summer! Now here we are at the middle of August, and fall fashion is now hitting the stores!
Summer has flown by and as I think about all the fun adventures Summer 2016 has brought, I feel so incredibly grateful to our Lord for all the blessings! The kids are growing up so fast.
With my boys entering junior high, and the girls 5th & 4th grade, I am treasuring each summer, before I know it the boys will be off to college (inset mom tears).
Kicking off the summer to Maui was special because we traveled with two other families. Seeing all nine of the children laugh, play and hang out was such a joy! Of course, I had to have a minor ER visit with two of mine, who had sand trapped in their ears, plus a raging ear infection. Hey it’s all part of raising children right?
After Hawaii we made a two day stop in California for some fun at Universal Studios and there is nothing like feeling like a kid again riding rides! Laughing, screaming, holding on to each other is my favorite memory of this trip. Of course our first time on the new Harry Potter ride was A-Mazing!!
A week later it was off to North Carolina where my son went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Basketball camp for 5 days. My Alma-mater, this was special to me to show my kiddos where mommy went to college! True Tar-heels since birth! While my son was in camp my daughter and I hit the road to Ocean Isle Beach to meet my best friend/sorority sister from college and her family. Carolina BBQ, fried clam strips, and NC beaches will forever be close to my heart. Put on your bucket list if you have not experienced them!
This July I turned forty, which I already chatted about with you here. For this occassion we celebrated with a family trip for mommy’s 40th birthday! Punta Cana, Dominican Republic was where we stayed for the eleven days. The kids say this was one of their favorite vacations because of the beach we discovered there with the big waves, white sand and soft ocean floor.
Finally, to wrap up the summer, the hubby and I took a quick vacay to Cancun, Mexico just this past weekend. Nizuc Resort and Spa was the perfect getaway!
Whew!! And that was our summer! As you can see, we love to travel! I would love to hear about some of your favorite destinations!
