Beauty Counter

Everyone knows I love beauty products, it's one of my biggest passions!  One of the things that catches my eye about a beauty product is when it offers something unique. It could be in the category of makeup, skincare or hair.

Recently,  I was introduced to Beauty Counter, by a girlfriend who is passionate about what the brand stands for and it's philosophy.  She explained that the brand was dedicated to providing safe products into the hands of consumers. Over 1,500 chemicals questionable or harmful are banned as ingredients, yet the quality of their products are not compromised. I had to try this out!

Before continuing, let me say that this,  I am not a Beauty Counter consultant,  this will be my honest review of this product after testing it myself.

I was given skin care samples and I have to say after a week’s regimen on a daily skincare routine, I was impressed! So of course I have to share with you, my readers!

My THOUGHTS

1. Their Rejuvenating Toner Pads are a favorite. Gently removing the excess dirt, oil and makeup without over drying and refining pores!

2. A favorite of mine is the Charcoal Cleansing Bar. Without over-drying or using harsh sulfates, this cleansing bar really absorbs all the impurities in your skin resulting in a brighter complexion!

3. Lip Conditioner (Calendula Balm) Two choices of Lip Conditioners are available: Calendula Balm & Peppermint Balm. I chose the Calendula and I applied it in the evening before bedtime. The results were soft lips and I did feel protected from chapped lips!

4. I enjoyed the samples of the Nourishing Day & Night Cream, however I chose to purchase the Rejuvenating Day Cream which has contains ingredients to help combat signs of aging. I am all about that!

Things I Love!

I love how Beauty Counter explains the ingredients in their products so you know exactly what their purpose is and why! Here is an example of their description for the Rejuvenating Toner Pads:  "Lightly scented with magnolia, our soft Rejuvenating Toner Pads are your first line of defense against daily stressors after cleansing. Mixed fruit acid complex and vitamin C supply skin with antioxidants and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while lentil seed extract tightens and refines the appearance of pores, algae extract brightens and improves the appearance of skin tone, and Spilanthes camellia flower extract gives skin a firmer, more youthful look.”

See what I mean? Then next they list each ingredient. And finally they tell you why they have chosen to not include an ingredient commonly found in a similar product of different brands. “Rejuvenating Toner Pads are made without polyethylene glycol compounds (PEGs) used widely in cosmetics as thickeners, solvents, softeners, and humectants. Depending on manufacturing processes, PEGs may be contaminated with measurable amounts of known carcinogens such as ethylene oxide or 1, 4-dioxane.”

Beauty Counter also has a Celebrity following!
Alessandra Ambrosio
Lauren Conrad
Connie Britton
Molly Sims

It is nice to know as consumers we have safer options for skincare and cosmetics. Especially since no major law has been passed to regulate the safety of the skincare industry since 1938! I encourage you to check out this short video that I have seen and started to open my eyes:
